We should have our first story posted by midnight tonight.

We have chosen the line-up for Sirius Science Fiction May stories, which is as follows:

WHO WE ARE

Sirius Science Fiction is an on-line web site dedicated to publishing original speculative fiction - science fiction, fantasy, alternate history and horror. We like stories with a sense of wonder and excitement.

In a time when mainstream speculative fiction has been overrun by political correctness and identity politics, we offer a venue free of pretension and ideological litmus tests. We read the story free of preconceptions, and we do not ask for a biography from an author until and unless their story is accepted.

Sirius Science Fiction publishes two original stories per month, plus occasional reprints.

Guidelines

Stories must be between 1,000 and 4,000 words, original and unpublished. No multiple submissions; simultaneous submissions are fine.

Please submit RTF documents using standard manuscript format.

If you don't know what standard manuscript format is, Google it! You start with a strike against when you submit a story in some random format. If you don' care enough to read the guidelines and follow proper formatting, that probably says something about the care you put into your manuscript.

And not reading the guidelines and not using RTF format is a second strike.

Please proofread your stories carefully before submitting. Everyone makes mistakes, but multiple mistakes in a document is a third strike. We prefer to read stories for content, not typos.

Also, it help us with the formatting when publishing your story if you follow these guidelines.

Editor

Lou Antonelli started writing science fiction in middle age; his first story was published in 2003 when he was 46.

He’s had 124 original short stories published in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, Brazil India and Portugal in venues such as Asimov's Science Fiction, Jim Baen's Universe, Tales of the Talisman, Andromeda Spaceways In-Flight Magazine, Greatest Uncommon Denominator (GUD), Daily Science Fiction, Buzzy Mag, and Omni Reboot, among many others.

His first professional science fiction short story sale, “A Rocket for the Republic” (Asimov’s Science Fiction Sept. 2005) was the last story accepted by Editor Gardner Dozois before he retired after 19 years. It placed third in the annual Asimov's Science Fiction Readers Poll.

His collections include “Fantastic Texas” published in 2009; “Texas & Other Planets” published in 2010; and “The Clock Struck None” and “Letters from Gardner”, both published in 2014. "Letters from Gardner"was a finalist for the Best Related Work Hugo in 2015.

His debut novel, the retro-futurist alternate history “Another Girl, Another Planet”, was a finalist for the Dragon Award for Alternate History in 2017.

His story “Great White Ship”, originally published in Daily Science Fiction, was a 2013 finalist for the Sidewise Award for alternate history.

His short story “On a Spiritual Plain”, originally published in Sci Phi Journal, was a finalist for the Hugo award in 2015.
